Step-By-Step Instructions For Saving 42 Free Photomatix Presets:

1) Click on the ZIP folder link above to download and save it to your computer.

2) After the folder is downloaded to your computer, double click on it to unzip the folder. After the folder is unzipped, you should now have a normal looking folder with the 42 Photomatix presets inside.

3) Now all you have to do is save this folder in the following locations as shown above: Windows computer, C:Program FilesPhotomatixProPresets, depending on which version of Photomatix Pro you have. On a Mac with OSX Yosemite Version 10.10.3, the presets folder is located here, Macintosh HD/Users/"YOUR USERNAME"/Library/Application Support/Photomatix/Presets. Now when you use Photomatix and create a HDR image, you should see your saved presets along with the factory Photomatix presets that are included in the program.

*****Please Note These Tips From Photomatix*****

If you save in the 'Presets' folder of Photomatix (which is the default location when this panel pops up), the preset will be listed on the Preset pop-up menu and show as thumbnail on the Preset Thumbnails panel.

Additionally, if you create a subfolder in the 'Presets' folder and save there, the preset will be considered part of a group having for name the subfolder's name. The group will show as a submenu on the Preset pop-up menu, and also as category to filter the thumbnails listed on the Preset Thumbnails panel.

If you save outside of the 'Presets' folder, you will have to load the preset manually from the Preset pop-up menu in order to access it later on.

Step-By-Step Instructions For Saving the 3 Photomatix Presets below:

We have provided a sample HDR image, and below it the Photomatix Presets we used to create the HDR photo.

1) You can copy the Photomatix presets from a pop-up box that is opened by clicking on the text link below the photo example. After the pop-up box opens you can copy the preset text by highlighting the entire contents of the box with your mouse. You'll know the presets have been selected when the entire contents of the box are highlighted in blue.

2) Once the Photomatix Pro presets are highlighted in blue, copy the presets by typing (control+c), or by right clicking your mouse in the box and then clicking "copy".

3) You can then paste the Photomatix Pro presets into a text editor program like Notepad, then "Save As", YourFileName.xmp (Note: The filename must have .xmp file extension after it), and save this file most likely in this location on a Windows PC, C:Program FilesPhotomatixPro4Presets. On a Mac they should be stored in this location, Go to the main Macintosh HD, in folder Users/[your user name]/Library/Application support/Photomatix/Presets.

4) When you open up Photomatix Pro and get to the Tone Mapping step, look for the "Presets" menu above the "Process" button, click on the presets button, scroll down, and you should be able to find your presets file that you just saved, if you saved it in the correct location.
